....and doesn't let go!! The story was fast paced, didn't dwell on unnecessary details, and I could both picture and hear the characters in my mind...except for Erik. I'm British and I don't know any Englishmen who speak like the author wrote...except the pretentious, stuffy ones, and that didn't fit with the character. The story wasn't contrived but quite believable! I loved the epilogue.

Carousel Benjamin Smith 9780615701646 Books Reviews

The story was interesting enough, and the first three or four chapters were excellent, but from there on, the book needed a thorough editing. Not only was the sentence construction wordy and loose, the lack of contractions made the dialogue stiff and unnatural.

Overuse of name-tags, incorrect or missing punctuation and the numerous grammar errors became so distracting that I found myself looking for mistakes rather than reading for enjoyment. I skim-read the rest of it.

If Smith writes another book, he needs to find himself a good editor. This was amateur night all around.
ABOUT TIME!! I read this book in less than 24 hours...could not put it down. Literally! The narrative is dead on...no way I could say it better. Ben you did it my friend-awesome story! I am looking forward to more of your books in the future.
A page turner. Hard to put down! Suspense and drama in every page. Would make and excellent movie! Get this book!
This unique, well written book was recommended from a friend, and did not disappoint! I just passed it off to my wife to read and she is already enjoying it and can't put it down. Looking forward to the next book by Mr. Smith.
I found this story to be very compelling and it held my attention. I read it one sitting. The characters were well defined. I enjoyed the political aspect of the story and look forward to reading more from Benjamin Smith.
This book is Cathy well written with characters well drawn out. I loved all the back history of the low country; makes me wish I lived there. Great flow to the story line
The story line started out good, but got really boring and I couldn't finish it. In addition, there were so many errors with punctuation throughout the book that it was very distracting, to the point it seemed like a very cheaply written and published book.
